Time is changing, things are moving ahead and the same should with your style. Looking like you already did a few summers ago is boring. It doesn’t inspire the kind of excitement that will bring cool things your way. So, now is the perfect time to get out of your comfort zone. Guys, it’s time to think about trying out some new summer outfits this year. Don’t think about your budget or how much time you have to spare, for a while and just follow these style tips. And trust me guys these will go a long way in updating your look.
1. Remember to Keep Your Body Hair In Check this Summer
Warmer weather means more exposing. It means more exposure to skin and more body hair. And it is common that a lot of guys do have excess body hair. It is fact that this needs to be groomed. Some body parts, take the example of your back, are not negotiable. The parts need to get waxed. One thing to make sure is that there is no hair between your back and the line where your hair on your head begins.
Other body parts, like your chest, are negotiable. What you will have to consider is your preference, budget and what the partner in your life thinks. If we talk about major areas like your back and chest, they are well-suited for waxing.
2. Find A Signature Accessory for yourself
Summer fashion for women is wow but for men, it can get too boring. Unlike men, women, have many options like they can wear dresses, skirts, high heels, etc. The only option for men in shorts and T-shirts. Now let me give you the answer to this challenge. The answer lies in accessories, may it be handkerchief worn as a pocket square or a vintage leather backpack, all these are accessories that give basic outfits more character.
We think hats are a good choice for the summer. This is because they protect your head and face from the sun. But mind my words there’s a lot of room for error when choosing a hat.
3. Wear More Colors in summers
And let me clear this, by colour, we don’t mean a lighter version of blue jeans. Raise your hands: How many of you only wear black, blue, white and grey? Don’t you find this boring? Those dark colours you love to wear look jarring under the sun. So, now is a piece of cool advice. This summer, don’t be afraid to inject your wardrobe with some much-needed colour whether it is a pair of chinos, a button-down, a wallet, sneakers, skirts, tops etc, all of them work as colourful alternatives to the usual rotation.
4. Protect Your Skin from harmful rays
You are quite aware that you’re supposed to wear sunscreen year round. Now a question, how many of you actually do this? How many of you apply it to your face every day in the summer before going out? The number is too less and that has to change. This is because I am sure that you don’t want to put your health at risk. Neither you want to speed up the ageing process.
The solution is to look for a lightweight moisturizer that has SPF built in (SPF 30 or higher). Some of them also come with a built-in self-tanner. This will give you that awesome ray resistance.
5. Buy summer shoes a half-size or a full size larger
You have to buy your summer shoes a half-size or full_size larger than you normally would.
Definitely, it’s not a pleasant fact, but our feet swell during the summer and that’s why it’s key. So, when shopping for new shoes this time of year, try to buy shoes a bit larger than you would in winter so that it is easily adjustable.
Talking about the natural materials like leather, canvas, and suede, they will definitely stretch, and so going up half a size should be fine. And in case of inexpensive trendy shoes made from faux leather, plastic, or any other man-made material you can go a full size up.
6. Mind your fabrics.
We all love fast fashion as much as the next shopper. There’s an issue that a great deal of merchandise from high-street stores are made from poly-blends and these simply aren’t breathable. This will often hold on to sweat stains. So, in order to stay cool on steamy days, it’s best to seek out materials like cotton—pima or Supima is best. However, any variety will do—as the fibres are hollow in the centre. This allows them to absorb perspiration and release it quickly.
Linen also is a solid summer material. Linen is stronger than cotton. It is a better conductor of heat. These characteristics make it the most breathable fabric out there. On the contrary to popular belief, silk is a good choice for summer as well. This is so as it’s natural, breathable, and cooling. Now here’s a disadvantage, the only downside that it has to be cleaned frequently if you sweat.
7. Time to reinvent your clothes.
We’re completely in favour of utilizing the tailors your city or town in this case. This can surely happen, especially if you’re on the verge of getting rid of certain items. If you have a good tailor, he can cheaply transform garments, making them look totally different, giving them a new look. Let us take a few examples: A floor-grazing skirt can be made into a cute mini, the pants can be turned into shorts and long blazers into cute cropped jackets. These all definitely make lovable pieces to wear as summer dresses.
Let me give you another great tailor tip if you are looking to try out the crop top trend and that too without looking like a slave to fashion: Take an old T-shirt and tank top you don’t wear anymore to your tailor. Have he or she hem it to show a sliver of skin. And then pair it with super high-waist pants, skirts or shorts and that’s all. The result will be an easy-breezy crop that’s not too tight, neither too revealing. This can be worn comfortably all summer. Yipeee!
8. It’s easy to stop your makeup from melting!
Keep your actual makeup safe from melting.
What we’re always hearing are the ways to keep the makeup on our face safe from melting. Here’s a big question. How about the products we take around with us in our bags? Have you ever thought of that? No worries I am here to help you out in this too.
Try this trick: Freeze a Zip-Loc freezer bag overnight. Now, before you leave for work, check in the cosmetics you normally take for the day may it be a lipstick, a foundation, etc. Since we know that it’s not a long-term fix, what this will help you is to keep your products cool until you get to work, or whichever air-conditioned place you’re going.
And what if you know you’ll be outside all day? And you also want to tote along your makeup? Here’s a tip for that too. You can check out Cool-It Caddy, makeup bags and cases that feature a fully insulated interior and integrated coolant system. And that’s done!
9. All That Glitters is definitely gold in this case:
Metallic fabrics, sequins, chrome colours – in short, everything that glitters is gold for you here. It’s time to prepare to look your shiny best. Get ready for a night out this summer.
Now let me help out in where can you buy them. Unlike the sheer trend, I would suggest keeping this one limited to party wear. All you need is to look at some glittery outfits here and here.
10. Khaki Love
Khakis and army greens are seen everywhere this year and are loved by youngsters especially. Now, these days there are not only pants but khaki dresses are also making an appearance come amazingly this summer.
Again where can you buy them as this style is harder to find at the moment? This is because it’s a brand new trend this year. But, there are some pieces that are totally worth buying and that too right now. Think you are lucky enough to find this dress in your size and if you get it, don’t think, just buy. The amazing strapless dresses can also be a trendy addition to your wardrobe. You can also check out some of the summer collection from here.
